Space Center Houston
Houston’s largest tourist attraction is Space Center Houston. This is NASA’s official visitor center. Here you will find everything that can interest anyone who has a fascination for space, rockets and spaceships. Open 1000 to 1900 on weekends. Weekdays the center closes at 1700. Approximately NOK 150 in entry price, but you get discounts if you buy tickets on the website. The address is 1601 Nasa Pkwy, located south of downtown Houston, towards Galveston.
Center for Performing Art
The Houston Theater District is an attraction in itself, and that’s where you’ll find The Hobby Center. It opened in 2002 and with its special glass facade it is a favorite photo object. Natural Science Museum
The Houston Museum of Natural Science – is located north of Hermann Park. The museum is very scenic and is visited annually by more than 2 million people.
Museum of contemporary Art
The Contemporary Arts Museum – The building that houses the museum is an attraction in itself. The architect is the famous Gunnar Birkerts and the building was completed in 1972. The exhibition offers thought-provoking, exciting and fun modern art. The address is 5216 Montrose Boulevard.
The Houston Zoo
This is the largest zoo in Houston. It is located at Hermann Park and works diligently for the animals to have the best possible environment to live in. Here you will find both well-known and dear animals, but also rare animals that you have hardly seen on TV. The address is 1513 N. MacGregor.
The Williams Tower
The tallest skyscraper in Houston outside of downtown is The Williams Tower. If you have visited Houston in the past, the Transco Tower may be called. The skyscraper is located at 2800 Post Oak Boulevard in The Galleria Area, and is currently number 22 in height in the United States. We are talking 64 floors and 275 meters high. The observation deck on the 51st floor is no longer open, so now the building is first and foremost a favorite photo object.
JPMorgan Chase Tower
The tallest building in Houston and throughout Texas, and the world’s tallest 5-edged building, is the JPMorgan Chase Tower. The skyscraper can be found at 600 Travis Street, downtown Houston. The skyscraper is 305.4 meters high and has 75 floors. Between 0800 and 1700 you can take the express elevator to an observation floor on the 60th floor for the best view of the city. Downtown Aquarium
The Houston Aquarium is strategically located in downtown and is open every day from 1000 to 2200, except Fridays and Saturdays where it is open an hour longer. Here you can see a variety of species that live in water, you can buy souvenirs and eat a better lunch or dinner. The address is 410 Bagby Street.
