The population of Liechtenstein in 2017 was 37,877 people, with the majority living in urban areas. The economy of Liechtenstein is largely based on financial services, electronics manufacturing and tourism, with a GDP of $5.6 billion and a high per capita income. Liechtenstein is a member of the United Nations, European Union (EU) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). It has close ties to many countries throughout Europe as well as its former colonial masters. In terms of politics, it is a constitutional monarchy with Prince Hans-Adam II as its head of state. Liechtenstein. The informal network of women foreign ministers, led by Margot Wallström and Liechtenstein’s Aurelia Frick, in September presented its annual buffet dinner to Liechtenstein’s UN representation in New York. Among those attending were Australia’s Julie Bishop, Canada’s Chrystia Freeland, Colombia’s María Ángela Holguín, India’s Ruchi Ghanashyam and Kenya’s Amina Chawahur Mohamed.
